The Old Married Couple at Dizzy’s!

If you didn’t know any better, you may think The Old Married Couple were plucked from the 1920s Jazz/Vaudeville crowd, transported to the 1960s Folk/Country/Blues scene and finally made their way to the early 21st Century Indie Music arena. Perhaps they have settled down somewhere within the same city limits as Pokey Lafarge and The Ditty Bops while listening to Cole Porter on the gramophone.

THE OLD MARRIED COUPLE are the faces of new vintage, playing Dixieland style music with a vaudevillian twist that would be at home as much in the Music Halls of the 19th century as they are in the 21st century. Riley and Katie are young married pair in their 20’s but they’re vintage in style and sound. The Old Married Couple combine a witty songwriting style with a distinctive kazoo and fun infused sound that takes influences from Dixieland, skiffle, swing and music hall and presents it all with a vaudevillian tongue planted firmly in cheek. The Old Couple bring toots and hoots with wit, rhythm and catchy hooks from the perspective of young lovers.

With the release of their debut album in September 2017, Things are looking bright for one of the most colourful acts in music.

Sunday Session’s with Yeah Yeah (March 12th)

Sunday Session’s at Dizzy’s have begun for the year with a bang! We started the year off with a fantastic mix of musicians, special guests as well as the full regular ‘Yeah Yeah’ band. Over the the 4 hour relaxed Sunday performance these musicians wowed the audience with Jazz Classics, Blues, R&B and Soulful songs.

Dizzy’s did a live stream on our Facebook page during the show; “Sunday Session – Yeah Yeah with Special Guests”
Check it out at www.facebook.com/pg/dizzysjazzclub/videos/

We would like to also mention the wonderful crowd we had! Consisting of a lot of family and friends from the musicians, Jazz wouldn’t be this great without fantastic support from you all.
Thank you from ‘Yeah Yeah’ and Dizzy’s Jazz Club.

Visit ‘Yeah Yeah’ on their website to listen to some music, watch a video and read all about them as a band.
